Small Bronze Age anvil – miniature anvil / bronze tool, about 6 cm
Culture: Bronze Age
Material: Bronze
Dating: approx. 1200 BC / Bronze Age
Dimensions: approx. 6 cm
Condition: age-appropriate with a beautiful patina and signs of use
Description
Interesting small bronze anvil, presumably from the Bronze Age. With a size of only about 6 cm and a weight of about 284 grams, this is a particularly compact and extraordinary object.
The piece has the typical solid form of a small anvil and shows an age-related greenish patina as well as characteristic surface and signs of wear. Such small metallurgical tools are of particular interest to collectors, as they provide a direct link to early metalworking.
The anvil is a nice example of the craft tradition of Bronze Age metalworking and is excellent as a supplement to a collection of prehistoric tools, Bronze Age artifacts, or ancient metal objects.
