Beautiful set of two large vintage ceramic table lamps – turquoise/green, black and amber – including linen-look lamp shades

A particularly decorative and striking pair of matching table lamps, made of glazed ceramic with a lovely combination of deep turquoise/green, high-gloss black and warm amber-brown. Due to their generous size, symmetrical form and rich color palette, these lamps together form an impressive decorative whole.

The central part of each lamp consists of a large, oval ceramic body with a pronounced vertical rib structure. This profiling gives the lamps extra depth and ensures that light and surroundings are nicely reflected in the glossy surface. The turquoise-to-sea-green glaze subtly changes in appearance depending on the light incidence.

Special design

The green-blue ceramic body rests on an elegant, flaring high-gloss black foot. The same dark finish returns at the top, creating a beautiful balance in the design.

Particularly attractive is the section around the neck. Here the black ceramic is combined with a transparent amber/brown section. When the lamp is lit, this warm color is intensified by the lamp light. The contrast between the cool turquoise, the deep black and the warm amber gives the lamps their characteristic and luxurious look.

The organic, almost vase-like form, the glossy finish and the pronounced colors evoke decorative interior designs from the latter half of the 20th century. They fit perfectly within vintage, retro, Hollywood Regency and eclectic interiors, but can also be placed as a colorful statement in a modern interior.

Two lamps as one unit

The major advantage of this lot is that it is a matching pair. Two identical vintage lamps are especially suitable for a symmetrical interior layout.

They can, for example, be beautifully placed on either side of a large sideboard, on two side tables next to a sofa, on nightstands in a spacious bedroom, or on consoles in a hall or living room. Also attractive as separate decorative objects, but as a pair they clearly have the most visual impact.

Lamp shades

Both lamps are supplied with the natural/beige fabric lamp shades shown in the photos. The slightly tapered shades have a calm, natural texture and form a nice counterpoint to the glossy ceramic.

When the lamps are switched on, the shades emit a pleasantly warm light. Especially the combination of the natural fabric, the amber neck section and the turquoise ceramic gives the lamps a atmospheric look in the evenings.

Condition

The lamps are in good vintage condition for their age and are pictured as working.

As with used vintage interior pieces, normal signs of wear and aging are to be expected. On one of the black feet there is a small chip/damage at the edge visible. This is clearly shown in the close-up photo. Furthermore, on the glossy surface there may be small scratches, specks, irregularities or other minor signs of wear.

Also the lamp shades and electrical components are used and may show corresponding age- and wear marks. Please view all photos carefully; they form an important part of the description and give a good impression of the condition.
