Franklin Mint Excalibur Backgammon 1986 – complete – playing medals in original packaging
Description
For sale is the extraordinary “Excalibur” Backgammon set by Franklin Mint from 1986 in excellently preserved condition.
The set is complete: all 30 playing medals, all dice, both dice cups, and the other game accessories are present. The condition of the playing medals is particularly noteworthy: all 30 medals are still individually sealed in their original packaging and have never been used for play.
The intricately designed playing medals depict famous figures from the Arthurian and Excalibur legends. The two players’ sides are finished differently – gold- and silver-colored designs. The figures also include the corresponding original cards with information about the depicted characters.
The original papers from Franklin Mint are preserved and part of the offer.
The large backgammon board is high-quality and finely crafted. In closed condition it measures approximately 55 × 43 × 7 cm. Despite its age of around 40 years, the entire set is in exceptionally well-cared-for condition. It has been stored carefully for many years.
