Table lamp (2) - Ceramic, Steel, Textile - Set

A beautiful matching set of two decorative vintage table lamps offered, executed in an elegant classical style. The combination of dark, highly glossy lamp bases, warm bronze/gold-toned accents and large cream-coloured fabric shades gives these lamps a particularly warm and luxurious appearance.

The two lamps, as a pair, are very decorative and come into their own especially when placed symmetrically, for example on either side of a sideboard, on two coffee tables or nightstands, in a hall or on both sides of a sofa.

Design and construction

The lamp bases have a classic vase- or urn-shape with nicely rounded contours. The central section has a dark, reflective surface that, depending on the angle of light, reveals different nuances. This gives the lamps a striking character both day and night.

At the top there is a beautifully shaped section in a warm bronze/gold hue. The light aging and patina of this surface contribute to the authentic vintage character of the set.

The underside consists of a dark, round, flaring foot. This gives the lamps a balanced and stately appearance. Between the lamp base and the shade there are metal details in a warm brass/bronze-like color.

The combination of dark and warm metallic tones evokes the luxe decorative interior style that was widely used in the second half of the 20th century.

Lampshades

Both lamps are offered with the shown large cream-coloured fabric shades.

The shades have a classical wide, conical shape and are nicely proportioned relative to the relatively compact lamp bases. The broad shades give the lamps a distinctive and elegant appearance.

When the lamps are switched on, the light is softened by the fabric and creates a warm, atmospheric light diffusion. In the photos you can clearly see how the warm light is reflected by the glossy lamp bases and the bronze-colored top.
