Description from the seller
Gebrüder Kuttroff – Antique 800 Silver Walking Stick – Germany – ca. 1900
Elegant antique walking stick dating from circa 1900, featuring a substantial curved handle crafted in 800 silver. The silver handle is finely decorated with a beaded border and stylised floral and foliate motifs, characteristic of the decorative taste of the period. The handle bears the 800 silver standard mark together with the maker's mark attributed to Gebrüder Kuttroff, a German manufacturer of silverware.
The silver has developed an attractive age-related patina, particularly within the recessed decoration, which enhances the details of the design. The handle is mounted on a long, dark wooden shaft, finished with a brass ferrule at the bottom.
The walking stick is in good antique condition, displaying an attractive patina and gentle signs of age and use that are consistent with its period. The silver handle shows light surface wear and minor marks, while retaining its beautifully detailed decoration. The wooden shaft has some age-related marks and wear, and the lower metal ferrule shows natural oxidation and signs of use. Overall, the piece has preserved its authentic antique character and presents very well. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description.
