The exhibition shows how provocative nude photographs by cult photographer Marc Lagrange engage in dialogue with intriguing texts by Roman authors and stunning ancient artifacts from the museum's collection.
The Timeless Beauty exhibition puts female beauty in the spotlight. Beauty of today, represented by more than 50 works by Belgian photographer Marc Lagrange, but also beauty from antiquity.
You will learn, among other things, how women made up themselves 2000 years ago, which jewelry they wore, and what was in a Roman beauty case.
The exhibition is arranged so that a dialogue develops between the beauty of today and the beauty of yesterday. Lagrange's photographs mingle with the Roman objects in the museum and poetic texts by classical authors such as Ovid and Sextus Propertius.
The result is a dialogue that seems to give both the old and the new an extra dimension.
