Singer 28K (1912) Sewing machine - Metal, Wood

The machine bears serial number F2408227 and is executed in black-painted cast iron with richly colored gold, red, and green tones in the original decorations. The machine is supplied with the corresponding curved wooden Singer cover, featuring the Singer emblem and a wooden carrying handle.
What is special about this specimen is that the original accessory compartment is still present in the wooden cover. Inside are various old Singer presser feet/accessory pieces, as shown in the photos.
The hand crank and the mechanism turn and move, but due to its age and long period of use the machine requires maintenance and adjustment before it can be used again for regular sewing. Therefore, its operation as a sewing machine has not been fully tested.
The machine is in authentic, unrestored condition. The paint, decorations, metal parts and wooden cover show clear signs of age and use, including wear, scratches and localized oxidation. This is clearly visible in the photos and matches a machine well over a century old.
The key to the wooden cover is missing.
