Bowl - Uranium glass - OURALINE ART DECO

Elegant Art Deco molded glass bowl in ouraline, probably from a French production of the 1920s-1930s. Its translucent acqua-marine green tint is especially bright and reveals strong bright green fluorescence under ultraviolet light at 395 nm, characteristic of uranium presence in the glass.

Circular in shape and broadly flared, the bowl features a scalloped, lobed rim. The pattern, achieved by molding and pressing, combines a succession of radiating motifs in the form of fans and rosettes, framed by geometric lines and shapes reminiscent of petals or stylized arches. The lower part repeats this decorative vocabulary in a more pronounced relief, giving the whole piece a nice depth and numerous play of light.

The bowl is in very good condition. Only one or two tiny nicks on the upper rim are to be noted, barely perceptible, with no cracks or restoration. The raised relief decoration remains particularly sharp and the fluorescence under UV is remarkable.

Through its geometric aesthetics, its execution in molded glass, and its exceptional ouraline color, this piece is fully representative of French Art Deco glassware production in the interwar period. The absence of a signature or identifiable mark does not allow certainty in attributing the bowl to a specific manufacturer, but its stylistic and technical characteristics are typical of French productions of that period.
