Cat statuette in the brilliant interpretation of Roberto Rigon.
Artist, painter and ceramist from Veneto, born in 1929, recently passed away, in his nineties and still active.
Normally these statuettes are dated to the 1970s; however I believe this one is from the 1980s (after that, from 1989 the hallmarking would be changed).
Excellent condition. Stamped in relief on the underside of the belly.
Dimensions:
length 33 cm; height 11.5 cm; depth 10.5 cm.
Weight about 500 g.
The cat was produced in three coordinated but distinct shapes. The last photo shows the three types produced by R. Rigon. I will soon try to put up for auction also specimens of the other two.
