Description from the seller

An exceptional and highly decorative set of six antique crystal plates attributed to the historic Cristallerie de Montcenis, France, dating from the early 19th century.
Each plate presents its own distinctive character, showcasing the remarkable variety and refinement of early French crystal production. The collection combines elegant geometric cutting, radiating star motifs, faceted and fluted decoration, as well as beautifully restrained examples whose brilliance comes from the purity and weight of the crystal itself.
What makes this ensemble particularly remarkable is its extraordinary state of preservation. Approaching two centuries old, five of the six plates remain in exceptional condition, with a clarity and presence rarely encountered in objects of this period. Only one plate shows a few very small micro-chips, consistent with its considerable age; scratches are present.
In natural light, the crystal beautifully captures and refracts its surroundings, revealing the depth of the cutting and the exceptional decorative quality of early 19th-century French crystal.
Diameter — 17-20 cm
