A small statue of a street vendor with wicker baskets of fruit. Brand: Sitzendorf Manufactory (Germany, Thuringia). Under the base is the characteristic mark "S" surmounted by a crown, usually painted blue beneath the glaze. Material: Fine polychrome porcelain, hand-molded and hand-painted with a glossy enamel finish. Details and Condition. The sculpture evokes the typical eighteenth-century Rococo aesthetic, much loved by the German manufactory for its pastoral or folk subjects. The boy balances a wooden yoke to carry the baskets of fruit, and the base is enriched with the classic flowers in relief applied by hand.
