Pair of large brass vases with repoussé and hammered finish in an Art Nouveau style, dating from the early 20th century (about 1910–1920), originating from the United Kingdom, each vase measuring about 28 cm tall with a 10.5 cm diameter and a flared tulip neck, in excellent condition with age patina and light wear marks.
Description from the seller
Pair of large repoussé brass vases – Art Nouveau style – early 20th century
Beautiful pair of large decorative vases in repoussé and hammered brass, with a floral relief motif (roses, foliage and plant motifs), featuring a flared tulip-shaped neck and an elegant fluted base. The brasswork shows a fine antique patina, with normal signs of age-related use, without any major visible alterations.
The whole is harmonious and particularly decorative, typical of French or Belgian productions from the early 20th century, in an Art Nouveau / Art Nouveau–Art Deco transitional spirit. The two vases are sold together and make a very fine pair for interior decoration, a fireplace, a console, or a collection of antique brass objects.
Features:
- Material: repoussé and hammered brass
- Period: early 20th century (circa 1900–1930)
- Origin: United Kingdom
- Decor: floral (roses and foliage)
- Condition: good overall with an aged patina and light signs of use
An antique decorative pair with a handsome presence, sought after for its metal work and Art Nouveau style.
