Sony Hi-Fi combination from circa 1980–1982, consisting of the TA-242 integrated stereo amplifier and the ST-242L program tuner. Both components are finished in silver and made in Japan.

The TA-242 delivers 2 × 22 watts into 8 ohms and features inputs for phono, tuner and tape. Also equipped with tone control, balance, loudness, two switchable speaker outputs, a headphone jack and illuminated power meters.

The ST-242L receives FM, MW and LW and features five programmable FM preset stations, manual tuning, stereo/mono switch, muting and a signal-strength meter.
