Bound in dappled brown leatherette, gilt-stamped, with matching original slipcase. Corners lightly bumped/rubbed. Heavy scuffing and chipping to slipcase corners only. Lacking obi. With folded poster laid in, as issued. Near fine in very good case. Text in Japanese
Images of Paris taken by Shinoyama during the seventies. Quiet, melancholic and crumbling, the images look as if they are from an earlier time, with the more advanced and beautiful colour possible in the 70's. The photographs include streets, shops, gardens, markets, street cleaners and circus performers. An elegant piece of travel work from the master of the nude - albeit in a form that is about as seventies as it could get.
