Description
A genuine prestige-tier release from Maison Martell, the oldest of the great Cognac houses (founded 1715): L'Or de Jean Martell — "The Gold of Jean Martell." This is one of Martell's flagship luxury expressions, sitting above XO in the house range, and is a serious step up from standard collectable decanters into fine-cognac investment/drinking territory.
L'Or de Jean Martell is a blend of over 400 individual eaux-de-vie drawn from the Grande Champagne and Borderies crus — Cognac's most exclusive growth and Martell's signature terroir — with some of the component spirits reported to be a century or more old. The cognac is housed in a striking hand-blown crystal decanter (Cristal de Sèvres), shaped like a teardrop with fluted wave detailing around the base and a polished gold-finished neck and collar, evoking the character and craftsmanship of the liquid inside.
This bottle presents as:
Sealed and full — appears unopened, with the gold foil/wax seal at the neck intact
Presented in its original fitted navy presentation box with black satin interior and a gold-embossed "Cognac L'Or de J&F Martell, Fondée en 1715" crest on the lid
Accompanied by the original branded booklet matching the box design
Outer box in good structural condition, with maker's barcode ("Martell & Co. Cognac – Produced & Bottled in Cognac, France")
No visible chips or cracks to the crystal decanter or gold neck fitting.
