Liturgical silver chalice – Naples, 18th/19th century

Elegant silver liturgical chalice of Neapolitan origin, dateable between the mid 18th and the early 19th century. It features a refined, shaped base and is richly worked, with ribbing and ornamental motifs that continue along the stem.

The stem is characterized by an important central bulbous node and finely worked, while the under-chalice presents a relief decoration with vegetal and ornamental motifs. The cup is gilded internally, in keeping with the tradition of chalices intended for liturgy.

An interesting example of ancient Neapolitan sacred silverware, of notable elegance and presence.

Calice liturgico in argento – Napoli, XVIII/XIX secolo

Elegante calice liturgico in argento di provenienza napoletana, databile tra la metà del XVIII e l’inizio del XIX secolo. Presenta una raffinata base sagomata e riccamente lavorata, con costolature e motivi ornamentali che proseguono lungo il fusto.

Il fusto è caratterizzato da un importante nodo centrale bombato e finemente lavorato, mentre la sottocoppa presenta una decorazione a rilievo con motivi vegetali e ornamentali. La coppa è dorata internamente, secondo la tradizione dei calici destinati alla liturgia.

Un interessante esempio di argenteria sacra napoletana antica, di notevole eleganza e presenza.
