2003 Porsche Boxster S with a 3.2‑litre petrol engine, manual transmission, 266 HP, silver exterior, 180,000 km, matching numbers and colours, Polish registration, located in Poland, CoC available on request, valid MOT, in very good overall condition.
Description from the seller
GENERAL OVERVIEW
2003 Porsche Boxster S 986, equipped with the 3.2-litre petrol engine and manual transmission. The vehicle currently shows approximately 177,000 km indicated on the odometer.
The vehicle was originally imported from the United Kingdom to Poland, and I am the second owner since its registration in Poland.
I purchased the car several months ago and have since invested significantly in maintenance, servicing, and mechanical refurbishment. The intention was to bring the car into very good usable condition rather than simply prepare it cosmetically for sale.
The vehicle is currently registered in Poland and has valid insurance and technical inspection.
It is being offered for sale because I am moving and will therefore no longer be able to use it regularly.
The Boxster S is the more powerful 3.2-litre version of the 986 and combines Porsche’s mid-engine layout with a manual gearbox and electrically operated convertible roof.
BODYWORK & PAINT
The bodywork is in very good overall condition for its age and mileage.
The silver paintwork presents well overall, with only minor signs of normal use and age. As expected from a vehicle of this age and mileage, there are small cosmetic imperfections and signs of use, but nothing that detracts significantly from the overall appearance of the car.
The body panels present well and the vehicle retains its characteristic Porsche Boxster S appearance and alloy wheels.
The glass and exterior trim are in good overall condition.
To the best of my knowledge, no structural welding or major body repair is currently required. Prospective buyers are welcome to inspect the vehicle in person before bidding.
TECHNICAL CONDITION
The car has been extensively maintained and mechanically refreshed during my ownership. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, approximately 30,000 + PLN (€7,000) was invested into servicing, repairs, and replacement of mechanical components.
The vehicle was taken to a Porsche specialist with instructions to inspect it thoroughly and repair or replace everything that required attention. Work carried out included suspension components, numerous links, engine oil and servicing, as well as rebuilding the catalytic converter, among other maintenance items.
The 3.2-litre engine runs well and the car starts reliably on the first attempt, including during very cold winter conditions. I have experienced no starting problems during my ownership.
The manual gearbox generally operates well. The only issue I have personally experienced is that second gear disengaged on a few occasions while driving. I mentioned this to the mechanic, who subsequently test-drove the vehicle and reported that the gearbox operated normally during his test. He suggested that it may have been related to my gear selection or handling of the car. I am mentioning this for complete transparency.
The suspension and handling are very good, and the car feels direct and well balanced on the road. The Boxster S is particularly well known for its mid-engine handling characteristics, which are very noticeable when driving the car.
The air conditioning is operational.
The stereo is currently not functioning. The issue is believed to be related to the amplifier, which will most likely require repair or replacement.
Windows
All of the car’s windows have been checked and verified, and the markings and specifications match correctly throughout the vehicle.
Tyres
The car comes with both a set of summer tyres and a set of winter tyres, allowing it to be used comfortably throughout the year.
Regarding the IMS bearing, I do not have documentation confirming whether it has previously been replaced. I discussed this specifically with the Porsche specialist who inspected and worked on the vehicle. Based on the overall mechanical condition of the car, he advised me against replacing the IMS bearing unnecessarily, as he considered the vehicle to be in very good condition and did not identify any indication that replacement was currently required.
INTERIOR
The interior is in very good overall condition and has been well preserved considering the age and mileage of the vehicle.
The cabin retains its original Porsche character and equipment, with the seats, dashboard, carpets, and trim presenting well overall.
The electrically operated convertible roof functions correctly and provides the full open-top driving experience.
The interior electronics and controls operate as expected, with the exception of the stereo system mentioned above.
The cabin is clean and presents very well for a 2003 vehicle.
DOCUMENTS & HISTORY
The vehicle comes with its original Porsche booklet.
It is currently registered in Poland and is supplied with the relevant registration documentation.
The car is supplied with one key.
The vehicle also has valid insurance and a valid technical inspection.
Documentation relating to servicing and maintenance that is currently available with the vehicle will be included in the sale.
Personal information contained within any documents or photographs can be covered or blurred where necessary for privacy.
COLLECTION & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The vehicle can be collected from its current location following completion of the auction.
I am happy to cooperate with the buyer regarding reasonable collection arrangements and can provide additional information or photographs if required.
The Boxster S combines the balance of Porsche’s mid-engine platform with the stronger performance of the 3.2-litre S model and the additional enjoyment of open-top driving. I have also had the opportunity to drive a Porsche 911 and personally find the Boxster particularly engaging and enjoyable to drive.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
