FED Zarya? + Industar 2,8/5cm | Analogue camera

In this lot a Russian 35mm analog camera with clean, essential lines: the Zarya (also known as Zarja or FED Zarya), produced by the historic Soviet factory F.E. Dzerzhinsky (FED) in Kharkov between 1959 and 1961. Born as a simplified and economical variant of the FED-2, the Zarya is distinguished by the absence of a rangefinder and the corresponding self-timer, offering an extremely sharp Galilean viewfinder and focusing by estimation. It features an interchangeable lens with M39 screw mount, in this lot represented by the classic Industar-26M 50mm f/2.8.

The lot is in generally good condition, with normal signs of use and storage consistent with the object's age, and is complete with the original brown leather case and the front metal lens cap.

Optics: The Industar-26M 50mm f/2.8 lens shows overall good condition with the typical vintage anti-reflective coating. As is natural for vintage devices, extremely tiny specks of internal dust may be present but do not preclude performance. The diaphragm and focus rings move smoothly.

Mechanical: The overall mechanical operation, the shutter curtain, and the advancing mechanisms have not been tested with film.

Aesthetics: Good overall condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The metal body and the black coating maintain excellent visual integrity, showing only slight and normal signs of aging and storage visible on the exterior profile. The included brown leather case shows a vintage patina and signs of surface wear due to time.
