Description from the seller
Saab 9-3 Viggen Cabriolet – 1999
The offered Saab 9-3 Viggen Cabriolet comes from 1999, i.e., the first year of production of the Viggen sport version. The car was originally sold on the American market and was later imported to Poland. It has been registered in Poland since March 2018.
The car is equipped with a turbocharged 2.3 B235R engine rated at 230 HP, paired with a manual transmission. The Viggen was the most powerful and sportiest variant of the first-generation Saab 9-3, featuring, among other things, a stronger engine, modified suspension, larger brakes, and distinctive styling elements.
Body and roof
The car has a black body and a soft, electrically folding roof.
The roof lining is in good condition, and the electric mechanism for folding and unfolding the roof operates correctly.
The car originates from the American market. In available vehicle history databases there is a record of a past damage. At the same time, no total loss, scrapping, or theft of the vehicle has been reported.
The detailed current condition of the paintwork, body panels, glass, lights, and seals is shown in the auction photos.
Mechanical condition
The car is currently in very good mechanical condition.
The engine runs very smoothly, develops power properly, and very well conveys the character of a turbocharged Saab Viggen. The manual gearbox shifts correctly.
In the recent period, the car underwent a series of servicing tasks. These included, among others:
* replacement of the clutch – installed a new Sachs clutch,
* replacement of the front shock absorbers,
* installation of new front tires,
* refrigeration system overhaul in the previous season.
The car was previously serviced also at the specialist Saab Obuchowicz workshop in Michałowice.
The suspension operates quietly and without worrying noises. The primary braking system functions properly. One side of the handbrake currently holds less well and requires adjustment or repair.
The car starts normally, runs, and can be used.
Interior and equipment
The car has a four-seat interior typical of the Viggen version.
The air conditioning system was regenerated recently. The electric roof mechanism works correctly.
The detailed condition of the seats, upholstery, dashboard, door panels, and other interior elements is shown in the auction photos.
Documentation
The car is currently registered in Poland.
VIN: YS3DP75G6Y7004609
It has a current technical inspection valid until March 3, 2027, and a valid third-party liability insurance policy.
Polish vehicle history from the CEPiK system is available, including registration and technical inspection history.
The car can be viewed and picked up in Poland.
The Saab 9-3 Viggen Cabriolet is currently a rare version of the first 9-3. The combination of a 2.3 turbo engine with 230 HP, a manual transmission, and a convertible body makes it one of the most characteristic Saabs from the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
