A mechanical Black Forest porcelain wall clock from ca. 1850–1900, 21 cm high, 17 cm wide and 10 cm deep, weighing 2 kg, with a one-day power reserve and half-hour striking on a bell, made in Germany and in good used condition with minor age-related signs.

Stunning Antique Black Forest Porcelain Shield Clock (Schwarzwälder Schilduhr) – Ca. 1850
For auction: A very charming and authentic antique wall clock from the Black Forest (Germany), dating from the mid-19th century. This type of shield clock is known for its hand-painted front and traditional wooden movement. With a height of 21 cm, this is a beautiful, compact size that will suit any interior.
Features and details:
Front: Shaped porcelain/faience shield with elegant floral relief details in pastel colors (red, green and soft blue) and a beautifully hand-painted romantic landscape scene at the top featuring a church/fortress.
Dial: White dial with classic Roman numerals and original, open-work metal hands. The porcelain shows light, age-appropriate hairline cracks (crackling) in the dial, which emphasizes the authentic antique character.
Movement: Authentic Black Forest pin-wheel movement with wooden plates and brass gear train. Equipped with a locking disc strike mechanism (Schlossscheibe) that strikes on an iron bell at the side.
Completeness:
The clock is in complete, original condition and is supplied including:
- The original copper disk pendulum.
- The original chains.
- Two antique cast-iron weights in the characteristic pinecone shape.
Condition:
