Offering an attractive 34-gram lot of natural rough tourmaline crystals, reported as originating from the Konar mining area of Afghanistan.

The lot contains a varied selection of green, dark green, blue-green and bluish tourmaline crystals, including several pieces showing good transparency/translucency. A number of crystals display the characteristic longitudinal striations and elongated prismatic crystal forms commonly associated with tourmaline.

Particularly interesting are the bluish to blue-green pieces, which show an indicolite-like colour range. These provide an appealing contrast to the predominantly green material in the lot.

The crystals are presented in their natural rough form, without polishing or faceting. The lot contains a mixture of complete crystal sections, terminated/broken crystal fragments and natural rough pieces, giving collectors an opportunity to study the colour, crystal habit, transparency and internal characteristics of Afghan tourmaline.
