Roche Bobois magazine holder designed by Marc Ducaroy, in plexiglass with tortoise‑shell effect and brass, France, 1970–1980, dimensions 30 x 21.5 x 12.5 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Turtle-shell effect tortoiseshell plexiglass and brass magazine rack – France, 1970s, Recently Polished
Elegant French 1970s magazine rack, made of plexiglass with a rich tortoiseshell effect, in deep tones of brown, mahogany and amber, enhanced by the transparency and natural variations of the material. Attributed to Marc Ducaroy by Roche Bobois
Its geometric construction, with clean, architectural lines, is highlighted by slender gilt brass strips, adding a warm and sophisticated touch to the whole. The rear section features a wide rectangular opening serving as a handle, also allowing easy movement of the piece.
A fine example of 1970s French design, particularly decorative thanks to the contrast between the tortoiseshell plexiglass and the gold metal. A piece that fits equally well in a contemporary interior or in mid-century or vintage decor.
Era: 1970s
Origin: France
Materials: tortoiseshell-effect plexiglass and brass
Condition: very good vintage condition, with some minor marks but the piece has been polished.
