Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Wooden three-shelf bookshelf in good used condition (1980–1990, Europe) with a Neo‑Classical Louis XVI reinterpretation, turned columns and a warm red-burnished finish; dimensions 64 × 35 × 19 cm, with one missing lower leg.
Description from the seller
It is a bookshelf that preserves that Louis XVI-inspired air, where structural lightness and a taste for symmetry combine with a discreet yet elegant decorative presence. The wood, worked with a reddish finish and polished, adds depth and a warm glow that enhances the verticality of the turned columns. These columns, with their rhythm of widening and narrowing, evoke neoclassical tradition without excess, keeping the piece within a sober and refined language.
The three levels are organized with architectural clarity: straight planes, well proportioned, that allow objects to be displayed without competing with them. At the upper corners, the small finials provide a ceremonial touch, almost like miniatures of pinnacles, reinforcing the piece’s decorative vocation. Despite its compact size, the shelf conveys presence and balance, as if each element were calculated to dialogue with the next.
The overall condition is good: the wood retains its shine, the structure remains firm, and the turned details stay sharp. Only one of the lower legs is missing, which introduces a small interruption in the harmony of the piece, but it is a defect easily remedied by replacement or faithful reproduction. With that minimal intervention, the piece would regain full stability and its aesthetic reading would remain intact.
Shipped with certificate and good packaging.
