It concerns an L-cathode, manufactured at Philips NatLab (Natuurkundig Laboratorium). According to the available historical information this cathode was made by the head of the tube workshop. In the corridors this component was referred to as the Lemmens-cathode.
This cathode possessed a high emission capability for electrons. The distinctive design with gold-colored components makes the tube, moreover, a striking and interesting historical collectible object.
