An exceptional antique Victorian silver-plated claret jug (wine pitcher) featuring a striking classically elegant form and a beautifully balanced hinged lid. The belly of the jug is decorated with exquisite, highly detailed hand-engraved (ghalamkari) ornate scrolling patterns that display remarkable British craftsmanship
size : 24x15x9.5 cm
The underside of the base is fully stamped with the hallmark "D & BROS" for the renowned Birmingham silversmiths Deykin & Brothers, alongside its unique model catalog number F5361 and Victorian design pseudo-hallmarks (refer to image ty5.jpg).
Condition: Excellent antique condition. The piece is completely sound, sturdy, and structurally perfect with no dents or repairs. The silver plating retains a brilliant luster with only minor, faint superficial surface scratches and very light age-appropriate polishing wear, which serves to confirm its authentic antique provenance.
