Tchubi: Khal Mohammadi and Afghan Aqche are two of the most popular types of Afghan carpets. The Khal Mohammadi are hand-knotted rugs by the Turkmens of northern Afghanistan. Their main colors are dark red shades in various tones. The motifs are the göl (a motif that resembles an elephant's foot) and the octagon (an eight-sided figure), often accompanied by stylized flowers in dark blue, ochre and beige. Afghan rugs are hand-knotted by the Turkmens of central and northern Afghanistan.
