A 55-gram lot of natural petroleum quartz crystals from Balochistan, Pakistan, exhibiting fluorescence under UV light due to petroleum inclusions.
Description from the seller
This attractive 55-gram lot of natural petroleum quartz from Balochistan, Pakistan consists of multiple quartz crystals showing visible internal petroleum inclusions. The petroleum is clearly present inside the crystals and produces a distinctive fluorescent reaction under UV light, creating an impressive change in appearance between normal daylight and UV illumination.
The crystals display a variety of natural forms, with several pieces showing well-developed natural terminations, transparent to translucent areas, internal inclusions and attractive surface features. The petroleum inclusions range from subtle golden/brown tones to more strongly visible inclusions within the quartz.
A particularly interesting characteristic of this lot is the colour-changing/fluorescent effect caused by the petroleum inclusions under UV light. The accompanying photographs show the crystals under UV illumination and demonstrate this unusual optical response.
The pieces are presented in their natural crystal form, making this an interesting collector's lot for enthusiasts of quartz, fluorescent minerals and unusual petroleum-bearing inclusions.
