One 70-gram lot of natural petroleum-bearing quartz crystals from Balochistan, Afghanistan, with fluorescent petroleum inclusions visible under UV light and natural terminated crystal forms.
Description from the seller
Mineral: Quartz with natural petroleum inclusions
Locality: Balochistan, Pakistan
Total weight: 70 grams
Treatment: Natural and untreated
Crystal form: Natural terminated crystals
Special feature: Fluorescent petroleum inclusions under UV light
Lot: Multiple relatively large crystal pieces
This is an attractive 70-gram lot of natural petroleum-bearing quartz crystals from Balochistan, Pakistan, featuring several relatively large and well-defined individual crystals.
The quartz crystals contain natural petroleum inclusions that are clearly visible inside the transparent to translucent crystals. Under UV illumination, the petroleum produces a distinctive fluorescent response and noticeable change in colour, giving these crystals a particularly interesting appearance. Photographs showing the change in colour effects under UV light are included with the lot.
The crystals are presented in their natural, untreated condition, with many pieces showing natural crystal faces and terminations.
The combination of transparent quartz, internal petroleum inclusions, natural crystal forms and UV fluorescence makes this a desirable and unusual material for collectors of fluorescent minerals and petroleum quartz.
Compared with smaller fragment lots, this lot contains good-sized individual pieces, allowing the internal inclusions and fluorescence to be appreciated more easily.
The lot has not been artificially enhanced or treated. Natural features such as inclusions, minor fractures, contact marks and surface irregularities may be present and should be considered part of the natural character of the crystals
An unusual collector's lot of natural Pakistani petroleum quartz, combining attractive crystal forms with visible internal petroleum and a striking UV-fluorescent colour change.
