RARE BURMESE AMBER – SPIDER, FOSSILIZED WEB & PREY
A rare and highly interesting specimen of Burmese amber (Burma/Myanmar) preserving a spider in the centre of an extensive fossilized web, together with several apparent prey remains caught in the web on the left side.
The preservation of a spider together with its web and prey in the same piece of amber makes this an particularly attractive and uncommon behavioural fossil for collectors. The delicate web strands are clearly visible throughout the amber.
