Description from the seller
Topset of 3 Vintage Murano Tutti Frutti Bowls – Incl. 2 Large Models (610g & 511g)
1950s, an exceptionally beautiful, varied and heavy set of three hand-blown vintage art glass bowls (vidé poches / ashtrays) from Murano, Italy.
Made in the iconic "Tutti Frutti" / Oriente style, a world-famous design attributed to Dino Martens for the glassworks A.Ve.M. (Arte Vetraria Muranese), circa the 1950s. This is not a standard set; the collection includes two rarer, large and extra-heavy models.
Each piece has an organic, undulating freeform shape and is richly filled with ingrained murrine (eye-like motifs), intricate zanfirico network threads and a stunning layer of glistening aventurine (silver foil) that beautifully reflects light.
Specifications per Bowl:
- Large Multicolor 'Eye' Model (Heaviest centerpiece): gorgeous, very dense structure with many detailed murrine.
- Diameter: 14 cm, Height: 6 cm, Weight: 610 g.
- Large Model with Green/Orange Star Pattern: Generous, deep form with a star-shaped radiating pattern. Diameter: 14.5 cm, Height: 6 cm, Weight: 511 g.
- Ruby Red Model: Classic model with a deep red transparent base and colorful accents. Diameter: 12 cm, Height: 5 cm, Weight: 500 g.
The set is in beautiful vintage condition. The top surfaces, inner surfaces and the wavy rims of all three bowls are fully intact and glossy. The glass retains its original fire-polish finish. Large Multicolor Model (610g): Completely intact, the underside is perfectly smooth and polished.
Large Green/Orange Model (511g): See photos; bottom damaged, including the underside. Ruby Red Model (500g): Lovely top side. There is damage on the bottom as shown in the photo. When placed, this is obviously not visible and the bowl stands stably. All three bowls show light, normal wear with minor scuffs/scratches on the bottom in line with an age of over 70 years (proof of age and authenticity).
