Vintage champagne cooler from 1980–1990, made of chrome-plated or silver-plated brass, by CANARD DUCHÊNE / HB METRY, originating from the Champagne region of France; height 20 cm, width 22.5 cm, depth 19.5 cm.

Splendid vintage wine/champagne cooler, executed in nickel-plated or chromed brass, made for the house Canard Duchêne in Ludes.

In 1859 Victor-François Canard, a cooper, married Françoise Léonie Duchêne, the daughter of a winemaker. In 1868 they continued together under the business name Maison Canard-Duchêne and they produced champagne which was also served at the Russian court.

This 1950s cooler is in good condition, nicely stepped design with large rings on the sides that serve as handles; the cooler is of course still perfectly usable.

Stylish ambiance-maker and eye-catcher on every table, bar, party, etc.
Original honest oldie, hard to find, making it a collectors item.
