Description from the seller
"Gold Thrower" — J.Cami, limited edition of 20 copies
There is a single moment, just before the gesture, when everything is still possible. The body is tensed backward, the arm loaded, the face hidden — it is the moment that precedes revolt. Banksy had fixed it forever with a bouquet of flowers in place of a stone: violence disarmed by beauty. J.Cami repeats that same suspended instant and traverses it with a different question — what do we throw, today, when we truly want to change something?
The answer, here, is a key. Not just any key: an original Porsche key, authentic, pulled from its mechanical fate and raised as a symbol. The desire for speed, the weight of possession, the obsession with status — all that that key would normally ignite — is instead hurled, offered, almost returned. It is no longer an act of conquest, but of liberation: as if the only way to truly possess something was to be willing to let it go.
And it’s gold, not by chance. Gold is the material of myths and idols, the color humanity has always chosen to consecrate what it considers eternal. Clad in gold the gesture of revolt, J.Cami transforms a moment of anger into a monument — freezing forever the ambivalence we inhabit daily: the attraction to luxury and, just as strong, the need to rebel against it.
The sculpture is crafted in high-quality resin with a bronze/gold finish that recalls the noble patina of classical statues, while the original key — raw, modern, recognizable — remains the only fragment of reality grafted into the myth. Each piece is entirely hand-assembled in Italy, signed and personally numbered by J.Cami: part of a strictly limited edition of only 20 pieces.
Dimensions: 18 x 21.5 cm.
An artwork for those who do not simply collect objects, but fragments of meaning — for those who recognize, in a gesture suspended in gold, their own unresolved conflict between what they desire and what they would like to be free from. Shipping is handled with extreme meticulous care, dedicated packaging, and maximum attention in every stage, so that the work arrives to the collector exactly as it was conceived in the artist's workshop.
