Commemorative 50 Rupees coin minted in 1979 to highlight the importance of women’s education in rural areas of Nepal. The reverse shows the Nepalese national emblem surrounded by legends and traditional symbolic elements, reflecting the identity of the Kingdom of Nepal under the reign of Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. The minting exhibits a clean, well-balanced style, with crisp relief and excellent definition in all details. The surfaces retain abundant original mint luster, with bright fields and only minor contact marks consistent with handling after striking, fully in line with the MS66 grade. This issue stands as an interesting testament to Nepal’s social development campaigns in the latter half of the 20th century, when education and literacy became top priorities for the country’s progress.
