- Grading: MS63 (NGC).
Silver 15 Kopeks coin minted in 1916 for the Russian Empire at the Osaka Mint (Japan), an extraordinary issue produced due to the limitations of Russian industry during World War I. The obverse features the crowned imperial bicorne eagle, holding the scepter and orb, bearing the Imperial shield and territorial shields on the wings, in a heraldic design of great richness and excellent definition. The reverse shows the denomination and date under the imperial crown, framed by an elegant open crown of laurel and oak branches joined by a ribbon at the bottom. The specimen retains an attractive original luster with slight silvery toning, well-defined reliefs and clean fields with minor contact marks typical of the grade, maintaining an excellent visual presence in line with the MS63 certification awarded by NGC. These Osaka-engraved issues constitute an interesting testament to international cooperation during World War I and represent one of the most singular issues of the last Russian czar’s monetary series.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to leave absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
