Description from the seller
This Ball is once again different from other Amethyst spheres.
It is a light Lavender form.
So it is not pink Amethyst or Chevron Amethyst or pure Amethyst, but something else again.
Not often seen
Amethyst is a violet variety of the mineral quartz and is the best-known stone in the quartz group.
Brazil has important deposits of amethyst, which are mainly mined in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (with the town Ametista do Sul as the main producer) and, secondly, in Bahia. Brazil is the largest stone producer in the world
The name comes from Ancient Greek ἀμέθυστος (amethystos). Amethyst was already known to the Egyptians, Etruscans, and Romans, and Pliny the Elder had already described amethyst.
In ancient China, small gems were carved from amethyst. In the Middle Ages, amethyst was also highly valued in Europe. It was called bishop’s stone, because it was formerly a beloved gemstone for church dignitaries, and it was said to possess magical powers.[source?]
It was the symbol of lovers, the stone of moderation, protector against sorcery and witchcraft. In Jacob van Maerlant, the explanation can be found that the stone drives away drunkenness. It has been assumed that the Greek name would mean “against intoxication”: wine drunk from a cup made of amethyst would not cause drunkenness.
It will be sent with maximum insurance.
