Decorative Bust of Roman Emperor Claudius – 35 cm

Impressive decorative bust depicting the Roman Emperor Claudius, who ruled the Roman Empire from AD 41 to 54. The sculpture features a finely modelled portrait with a classical Roman draped garment and an attractive aged bronze-effect patina. It is mounted on a tall architectural-style pedestal decorated with the Roman eagle and a plaque inscribed “IMPERATOR CLAUDIUS 41–54”. A maker’s mark is visible on the reverse of the bust.

The substantial size and weight give the sculpture an impressive presence, making it an attractive decorative and collectible piece for an interior, office, library or collection devoted to Roman history.
