Description from the seller
GENERAL
The Lancia Beta Montecarlo ranks among the most characterful Italian sports cars of the seventies. This particular example is an original European version from 1978, finished in a stylish combination of silver metallic with a striking red interior. The Montecarlo was designed and built by Pininfarina and features the distinctive mid-engine configuration that delivers excellent driving dynamics and a unique driving experience. The model is regarded as the direct forerunner of various successful Lancia racing cars from the same period. Between 1975 and 1981 this lightweight sports car has earned a solid place in the world of classic Italian automobiles. You are warmly welcome to view it in Gytsjerk, Friesland.
BODYWORK & PAINT
The bodywork designed by Pininfarina presents itself very well and has a well-maintained appearance with clean lines. A few years ago the car was repainted in silver metallic, which still looks neat. As is typical with a nearly fifty-year-old classic, there may be minor signs of wear. Prospective buyers are advised to carefully review the photos to form a good personal impression of the vehicle’s aesthetic condition.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Under the hood lies the original 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with around 120 hp, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. The odometer reading is 56,363 kilometers. The present chassis number (137AS0000352) is clearly visible in the vehicle and matches exactly with the original build plate in the car. Mechanically, the car drives and brakes well, delivering the pure and engaging driving experience that is so characteristic of a mid-engine Lancia.
INTERIOR
The interior is finished in a striking red color scheme that forms a wonderful contrast with the silver exterior. During the restoration work a few years ago, in addition to the paintwork, the interior was completely renewed while preserving the original look. The whole is in a very neatly kept condition and provides a sporty, comfortable ambiance for both driver and passenger.
DOCUMENTS
The vehicle is supplied with clear documentation supporting the car’s background. With the sale are included the Greek registration documents, the official historic vehicle registration and a proof of ownership from the previous owner. Both the chassis number and the original type plate are clearly visible on the vehicle and correspond exactly with the accompanying papers.
PICK-UP
The Lancia is ready for transfer to the new owner at the current location in Gytsjerk, Friesland. All registration papers, historic certificates and the proof of ownership are handed over directly at collection. The buyer is advised to coordinate transport or the journey home in advance to ensure a smooth transfer.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
With its lightweight construction, Pininfarina design and mid-engine, this Lancia Beta Montecarlo offers a great opportunity to acquire a true Italian icon. It is a fair, well-running classic that combines a striking appearance with a fantastic driving experience. Potential buyers are warmly invited to Gytsjerk (Friesland) for a personal viewing to experience the charm of this car firsthand.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
