Volkswagen Kever 1302 Cabriolet, year 1972, located in the Netherlands, with 89,935 km, a 1,600 cc petrol engine delivering 50 hp, and a semi-automatic transmission.
Description from the seller
GENERAL
The Volkswagen Beetle is probably one of the most famous and successful cars ever produced by the German brand. This attractive, compact icon is known for its solid build quality and surprisingly roomy interior. This specific example is an original four-seat Volkswagen Beetle 1302 Cabriolet from the 1972 model year, finished in silver-gray with a black skai leather interior and a black convertible roof. The car has been registered in the Netherlands since February 1, 1975 and has been with the second and current owner since 2007. It is a very nice and neat Beetle for the true enthusiast.
BODYWORK & PAINT
The bodywork is in neat, used condition. The car has previously been completely repainted in silver-gray paint, which presents well with only a few small, normal marks here and there. The car rides on the original Volkswagen wheels, with the rear tires recently replaced by two brand-new Vredestein T-Trac 2 tires in size 165/80/15. The original soft top is in used condition and has a damage on the right-rear side; for the best result one might consider replacing it in the future.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Under the rear hatch lies the reliable 1600 cc four-cylinder Boxer engine. The Beetle starts, runs, brakes, and shifts as it should. The odometer reading on an old appraisal report from 1997 was 86,475 kilometers. Since then, from 1997 to the present, less than 3,500 kilometers have been driven with the car, of which about 2,000 kilometers by the current owner since 2007. Because the car has stood more still than driven in recent years, it is advised to have the Beetle mechanically checked before taking long trips.
INTERIOR
The interior is in neat and well-kept condition. The black skai upholstery complements the classic look of the dashboard and the silver exterior. Recently, the two-part cardboard panel in the luggage compartment at the front was replaced with a new one, giving the interior a fresh and tidy impression.
DOCUMENTS
The car comes with a transparent history. This includes, among other things, a historic appraisal from 1997, an overview of performed maintenance including dates and corresponding mileages, and a recent minor service with an invoice included with the car. Two original keys are provided at transfer.
PICKUP
The Volkswagen Beetle is ready for transfer with the seller. Upon pickup, the car, all documents, the maintenance overview, and both keys are handed over directly. The buyer is advised to arrange the practical matters surrounding the pickup day in advance.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This Volkswagen 1302 Cabriolet combines the timeless Karmann design with a clear Dutch history and a very low mileage over the last decades. It is a fantastic basis to enjoy on sunny weekend drives, or to elevate to an even higher level with a few small cosmetic improvements.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
