They are two candelabra that clearly embody the spirit of Louis XVI reinterpreted in the nineteenth century, worked in gilded bronze with that blend of classical sobriety and ornamental richness that defines the style. The structure is vertical, balanced, almost architectural: a central shaft rises with firmness from which five arms fan out in elegant curves, each ending in clearly defined cups that keep the proportion and serenity characteristic of the neoclassical language.
The gilding, warm and deep, enhances the fine reliefs that run across the whole piece: acanthus leaves, discreet scrollwork, small garlands, and classical motifs that evoke a return to order and the formal purity of the eighteenth century, but with the artisanal touch and decorative sensibility of the nineteenth. The square bases, resting on paw-like feet, impart presence and stability, in addition to that theatrical flair so favored in historicist decoration.
