Description from the seller
Antique sewing set in 800 silver – F. Todt, Pforzheim – in original case
For sale is an unusually beautiful antique sewing set from the early 20th century, consisting of a richly decorated sewing scissors and a thimble in a precisely fitting original case.
Of particular interest is the still-present original label bearing the inscription “F. Todt – Deutsche Wertarbeit.” F. Todt from Pforzheim was a prominent supplier of jewelry as well as gold and silverware and held at the time the title of royal grand-ducal and princely court supplier.
The scissors feature intricately relief-embossed handles and are, like the thimble, appropriately stamped. The thimble clearly bears the fineness mark “800.”
