L. Bernardaud & C° - Table service (135) - Porcelain - Extensive and complete

An exceptional and very extensive antique porcelain table service by L. Bernardaud & Cie, Limoges, dating approximately from 1900–1920.

This impressive service consists of 135 pieces and combines a complete dinner service with tea and coffee pieces, as well as an exceptionally rich selection of serving pieces. The decoration features delicate floral bouquets on a warm cream-coloured ground, enhanced with fine gilding and elegant relief details.

Bernardaud is one of the most renowned historic names in the world of Limoges porcelain. The history of the manufacture dates back to 1863, and over the generations the house has earned an international reputation for the quality of its porcelain, craftsmanship, and refined French tableware tradition.

The particular value of this service lies in its scale and variety.
It stands out for its large, coherent and well-preserved composition, making it ideal for elegant table settings for large dinners, celebrations and special occasions.

Judging by their condition, the majority of the pieces appear never to have been used. Most pieces are in very good antique condition. Only a small number have minor damage:

* 1 soup plate with a chip
* 1 coffee cup with a small crack
* 1 milk jug with a chip
* 1 deep footed serving dish with a small crack

These pieces are included in order to preserve the completeness of the service. The remaining pieces show only minimal signs of age and storage consistent with antique porcelain.

Complete antique services of this scale are becoming increasingly difficult to find, particularly with such a large number and variety of original serving pieces.

This would make a very special gift for a wedding, anniversary, milestone birthday, housewarming or another important occasion, as well as a beautiful addition to a collection of French porcelain or an elegant interior.
