Description from the seller

INTERFUNKTIONEN 5 (1970)

JOSEPH BEUYS: HANDSIGNED - STAMP (Mainstream) on the cover

WORK CATALOGUE: Schellmann P23 (Edition 1000 - of which 60 individually altered by Joseph Beuys)

Rare issue of the legendary art magazine Interfunktionen.

The present copy bears on the title page an original signature by Joseph Beuys as well as the original Mainstream stamp.

In the Schellmann work catalogue (P23) it is documented that Beuys’ copies of Interfunktionen 5 were individually altered. The known copies usually show interventions on the inside pages and have a one-of-a-kind character. The copy offered here shows an alteration on the title page. Endorsed with the Mainstream stamp; this is not part of the print but was handwritten in red.

With very early contributions and works among others by:

* Joseph Beuys

* Christo

* Gerhard Richter

* Sigmar Polke

* Blinky Palermo

Notably here are the contributions of Viennese Actionism - especially Rudolf Schwarzkogler (1940-1969), whose last performance images appear here posthumously (see illustration)

Format approx. 32 × 21 cm.

Very good condition with slight age-related signs of wear to the cover, interior clean and well maintained.
