A piece of Mercedes-Benz history. Official/genuine factory drawing of the 300 SL. This is the official document of the market release of the model in 1954. The first units wouldn’t begin deliveries to customers until 1955.
The Mercedes 300 SL "GullWing" is an automotive icon of the 1950s. It is considered the first supercar in history, notable for its revolutionary vertical-opening doors, a technical necessity derived from its tubular chassis. Its inline six-cylinder engine with direct injection made it a benchmark of the era's technology and performance. Presented in 1954, this competition-derived model is a symbol of innovation, luxury, and timeless design.
