Decorative ornament (2) - Germany - Hand-carved human figures.

A remarkable pair of hand-carved wooden figural ornaments, presumably solid oak. The kneeling men are expressively carved and endowed with a beautiful, dark, aged patina.

Likely Southern German/Alpine region and possibly related to the Black Forest woodcarving tradition. Dated circa 1820–1860.

Authentic antique condition with normal signs of aging and use. Probably originally part of a piece of furniture or another decorative/functional object.

Dimensions per piece: approximately 17.5 × 5 × 11 cm.
