DESCRIPTION:
Splendid assorted lot of antique dessert, fruit, and cake cutlery. All the bodies and handles of the cutlery are stamped with the clearly visible “800” mark of solid silver. The knife blades are made from very high quality German steel and are regularly marked “Solingen.”
WEIGHT AND MATERIALS:
The total weight of the pieces in SOLID 800 SILVER (including all the forks on the surface, the teaspoons and the cake server, plus all the large forks and spoons inside the three cases) is a substantial 949 GRAMS.
In addition, the knives feature handles in 800 silver with the structural blade in Solingen steel.
The lot is composed of 3 refined antique handle styles that integrate harmoniously on the table:
* Style A (Baroque / Floral)
* Style B (Empire / Domed)
* Style C (Classic / Filet)
Excellent general condition, minimal signs of use and time consistent with age. No obvious structural defects. The original cases show a light and charming vintage patina on the exterior, but the interiors are well preserved.
For maximum transparency and fairness to the buyer, there is a physiological and light superficial wear on the flat part of the dessert spatula and inside the cup of some spoons (small spots due to natural wear of the surface coating over the decades).
