AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This lamp is part of a new series born from the desire to return to forms I enjoy, after having worked on the wall sconce. I wanted to explore them at a different scale, in a luminous, sculptural and functional object.

White stoneware has that almost silent density that I like. It catches the light without the shine of porcelain, with a soft matte, a bit chalky, almost mineral.
On this base, I applied a dripped glaze effect, a glaze that does not cover but lets the earth breathe. It beads, slides, and freezes on the surface.
This contrast, between matte and glossy, between raw and precious, is what I’m after. A surface that is never set, that continues to move with the light and the gaze.

Working stoneware at this scale also means accepting that the material evolves and transforms during firing. The initial drawing becomes an intention, never a certainty. What emerges: an organic form, slightly unpredictable, always unique.

Each piece is unique, shaped and hand-glazed in my studio. The hand-painted finish may slightly differ from one piece to another.

About Lucas Huillet:
Trained at the École Camondo in design and interior architecture. This academic path opened doors to collaborations with prestigious houses and institutions.
In 2018, he created his studio as a space of exploration where ceramics, interior architecture and object design intersect, centered on expertise in working with natural materials, allowing him to conceive pieces that are both everyday objects and complete works of art.
Today, the studio continues to combine artisanal tradition with contemporary innovation, with the aim of creating objects that carry meaning and authenticity.

Lucas Huillet’s creations have been shown notably at Paris Design Week, Collectible in Brussels, and Dubai’s Al Shindagha Museum.
