Statuette, Adan culture, Ghana. Height 35 cm

Beautiful Adan statuette from Ghana. The figure has a strong presence; it seems illuminated, the gaze is distant. The body, with lovely geometric volumes, is sculpted quite simply. The profile is superb and dynamic. At the rear of the skull there is a cavity, filled by a wooden plug. The white color is provided by the wood used as well as by the application of kaolin powder. A beautiful old and authentic collectible piece. Circa 1960.

Belle statuette Adan du Ghana. Le personnage a beaucoup de présence, le personnage semble illuminé, le regard est lointain. Le corps avec de beaux volumes géométrique, est sculpté assez simplement. Le profil est superbe et dynamique. A l'ariére du crâne une cavité est présente, rempli par un taquet de bois. La couleur blanche est apportée par le bois utilisé ainsi que par l’application de poudre de kaolin. Une belle pièce de collection ancienne et authentique. Circa 1960.
