"ICONS" is a collection of works by Takeshi Amano, one of Japan’s leading contemporary artists.

This is a collection centred on the figure works of contemporary artist Takeru Amano, which are considered his signature pieces. These works allow the viewer to fully appreciate his unique artistic vision, characterised by vivid colours and lines reduced to their absolute essentials.

Takeru Amano (1977)
Born in Tokyo in 1977. He moved to the United States in 1997 to study printmaking in New York. He creates works using a unique artistic style he calls ‘NEWART’, which fuses traditional subjects such as religious paintings and still lifes with Pop Art. Against backgrounds of vivid colours such as yellow and pink, he produces portraits rendered in simplified lines, as well as works that express transience through motifs such as skulls and candles. His work has been exhibited in Tokyo, Hong Kong, New York, London, Paris and elsewhere, both in Japan and abroad.
