Natural Rose des Sables crystal aggregate from Tunisia, an impressive mineral specimen in rosettes, about 26 × 19 × 18 cm and weighing 4.5 kg.
Description from the seller
Grande Rose des Sables – Natural crystal aggregate – approx. 26 × 19 × 18 cm
Impressive natural mineral formation in rosettes, commonly called Sand Rose.
The specimen features a particularly spectacular architecture composed of numerous interlocking crystal blades, forming several large three-dimensional rosettes.
Its natural color ranges from sandy beige to light brown, with a slightly gritty surface characteristic of this type of mineral formation.
Characteristics
- Item: Sand Rose / natural crystalline aggregate
- Likely mineral: gypsum
- Formation: rosette crystals
- Color: sandy beige / light brown
- Approximate dimensions: 26 × 19 × 18 cm
- Condition: natural, see numerous photographs
- Origin: undocumented
This is a particularly decorative specimen due to its substantial volume, the multiplicity of rosettes, and the numerous crystalline blades that develop in different directions.
Some crystallizations are wide and flat, while others are much finer and pointed, giving the whole a complex and highly aesthetic structure.
The specimen is presented in its current state, with no known restoration. Small irregularities, traces, deposits, and possible micro-chips are naturally part of this type of fragile mineral.
Beautiful piece for a mineral collection, cabinet of curiosities, natural decoration, or exhibition.
The photographs were taken from several angles to precisely show the structure, volume, and condition of the specimen. They are an integral part of the description.
Note: the gypsum identification is based on the characteristic visual appearance of a sand rose and is not accompanied by laboratory mineralogical analysis.
