Description from the seller
Mooring pot holder in mahogany and Vienna straw – Italy, 1960s
Elegant and scenographic freestanding planter from 1960s Italy, characterized by a slender wooden structure in mahogany and a refined upper basket worked in Vienna straw.
The design is particularly successful: the structure rests on three curved legs, connected to the central shaft and completed by tall vertical posts with turned elements at the base. The upper basket, slightly flared and rounded, creates a beautiful contrast between the warm, deep tone of the mahogany and the lightness of the Vienna straw weaving.
The pierced weave gives the piece great visual lightness and a typically Mid-Century elegance, making this accessory highly decorative even without a plant.
Dimensions: approximately 63.5 × 28.5 × 31 cm.
The planter is in generally good vintage condition and is very stable. The Vienna straw shows some defects and small losses due to time and use, visible in the photographs, which do not compromise the stability or the overall pleasant aesthetic. Normal signs of age on the wood are also present, in line with the object's age.
A piece of notable charm, ideal in a living room, entrance, veranda, study, or conservatory. Our interior designer also recommends it for contemporary and eclectic interiors, where the combination of mahogany and Vienna straw can create a refined textural contrast.
The photos are an integral part of the description and accurately document the condition.
The item will be packed with special care, thoroughly protecting the delicate Vienna straw weave.
